Digital Reflective Journal
In my Fashion Visual Communication Design course at Parsons, we are required to digitally compose pages of what inspires us in New York City as students and designers. Every five weeks we have to present our work and inspirations. I wanted to share with you all my final inspiration pages that I created throughout the last five weeks. This work was all created on Adobe Photoshop.
I am OBSESSED and in love with 1950s fashion and vintage style! I am very inspired by antique designs and architecture. I created a juxtaposition of the old and the new; a combination of 1950s style, modern fashion, and architecture. In five weeks, I will post the continuation of this journal as well as my process.

Chanel Evolution
“Fashion fades, only style remains the same."
- Coco Chanel

Karl Lagerfeld has done a great job in keeping Chanel the amazing brand it has been since Coco Chanel. I feel that there still is a noticeable difference. There is the Coco Chanel and the "Karl Lagerfeld" Chanel we see today. I love the classic Coco Chanel more than the modern Chanel but the distinct Coco Chanel style is still seen. This animation video of Chanel cosmetics is a great example of how the brand has evolved.
You might have seen this already.
Very neat and creative!

One of the best...
Oscar De La Renta never ever fails to surprise us with excellent and amazing work!! I absolutely love him. His consistency and meticulousness are two of the things that make him such a great designer. If you haven't taken a look at his Spring 2012 collection.... you are missing out! Get on it! Here is his collection. <<< CLICK. While you're at it, look at his previous work.
He is well-known for his amazing use of color and detailed beaded and embroidery work, in which he applies to a lot of his garments. Oh and of course I had to put together some images of a few of my favorite looks from his Spring 2012 collection....

As the end of New York Fashion Week approaches, I can't help but constantly look back at some collections. I think a lot of designers have done such a great job! I can't decide on my favorite designer or collection for Spring 2012 but... one collection that I really enjoy is from the designer Wess Gordon. Here are some images I put together of some of my favorite looks from his collection...

I think he paid so much attention to detail. His collection was so simple yet unique. I love the color story of his collection. He uses very soft colors but adds a splash of bright colors, such as red and green, to make his collection stand out a bit more. I would wear every piece in this collection. Of course, that is also why I totally love this collection!

Hello Fall!

Summer has come to an end but i’m excited for Fall. It’s such a beautiful season for many reasons. One main reason is because Fall weather and colors are truly perfect! Also, I get to wear more layers of clothing and dress more stylish. My favorite thing to wear in the fall are boots. So many comfortable and stylish boots are on sale and I’m always on the look out!

The Body as Form: Draping exercise with Pellon
For my first project of the semester at Parsons, my inspiration is the 1950s. I really love this decade. I mostly love how it was all about the shape of the woman's body. The garments were very fitted at the waist which really accentuated the female figure.
This was my first experimental drape with Pellon, which is a non-woven, interfacing, paper-like material.
